Workplace Safety, Infection Prevention and Control

This course provides students with foundational knowledge on preventing the transmission of organisms and infections. Students will also be provided guidance on how to manage situations when there is an exposure. In addition, students Will learn how to properly select and use personal protective equipment at the workplace.

Introductory Human Anatomy, Physiology and Histology

Estheticians need to learn how the human body functions to get a scientific basis for applying correctly. In this course, students will learn the basic concepts of human structures that govern integrated body function:

  • Anatomy: Organization of head, face, neck, and shoulder and science of the structure of organisms or their parts.
  • Physiology: Study the features of nine organ systems to the human body’s form and function.
  • Histology: The study of the structure and composition of tissues to their specialized functions.

Basic Dermatology Theory

This course introduces the study of skin, its structures, function, diseases, and treatment. The student will learn to classify a skin type base on the Fitzpatrick skin scale. All skin treatments should begin with a consultation. This course builds students’ ability and confidence to identify, analyze and evaluate skin to draft the best treatment plan.

Basic Cosmetic Treatment Training

This course provides students with the initial skincare treatments and spa techniques on specialized body areas, including the face, neck, decollete, back, and body. Students must perform hands-on practices of each treatment component, including skin analysis, cleansing, exfoliation and scrubbing, steaming, impurities extractions, facial and scalp massage, neck, shoulder, and decollate relaxation techniques, masks, and skincare product applications. This course provides a solid foundation for individuals who seek an advanced approach in the future.

High Frequency & LED Training

This course will teach students knowledge regarding high Frequency and LED Light Therapy treatments. Students will be able to understand how high frequency electrodes and LED lights work on skin, applicable skin conditions, recognize contraindications and learn how to perform appropriate treatment practices.

Microdermabrasion Training

This course introduces the knowledge and treatment protocols of different microdermabrasion types, a noninvasive cosmetic procedure. Students will also be taught about the benefits of microdermabrasion, expected outcomes, determining required sessions for best results, potential side effects, risk factors, and aftercare advice. Students are also required to perform the hands-on practice.

Waxing Hair Removal Training

This course will provide students the theoretical and hands-on training on waxing. Course materials will cover hair growth knowledge, benefits of waxing, types of wax, skin preparation, alternative methods of depilation, the waxing process of different areas on the body, essential procedures, popular styles, aftercare advice and recommendations, skin health and safety, and preparedness.

Nail Technology Training

Students will learn theories and practices of hand and foot care with key modules in bacteriology, sanitation, nail structure, and nail disorders. This course will equip students with all the skills necessary to complete a full set of manicures and spa manicures, pedicures and spa pedicures, and perform nail enhancement services. Students must perform hands-on training in gel tips and forms, acrylic tips and forms, nail removal, nail art, and paint and paraffin wax treatments.

Eyelash & Eyebrow Enhancement Training

In this course, students will be covered with eyelash and ocular anatomy, conditions of eyes, contraindications, eye area safety and cleansing, and eyelash health. Students will be equipped with all the skills necessary to perform the latest innovative eyelash and eyebrow enhancing techniques: classic, hybrid, and volume eyelash extensions, extension refills, eyelash lift, eyelash tinting, eyebrow lamination, eyebrow tinting, and eyebrow microblading.

Business Development & Management

This course is designed to give students a more comprehensive understanding of managing all aspects of a beauty salon and spa environment. Course materials will expose the student to a broad range of marketing knowledge, processes, and strategies to prepare students’ confidence upon program completion. Graduates from this program will be able to perform executive communication skills, professional ethics, salesmanship, basic taxing information, problem-solving, and decisions making to avoid conflict.
